A labour of love

Three local men assisted iThemba Lethu, a home for orphaned and abandoned babies, with handyman work.

AHEAD of Valentine’s Day, iThemba Lethu (meaning 'I have a destiny'), a transition home in Manor Gardens that looks after orphaned and abandoned babies and children, put out a request for DIY fundis to assist with some handyman jobs on the premises.

Three local and loyal ambassadors rose to the occasion, installing hanging rods in the storeroom for more efficient packing of clothing and nappies as well as mending the fence along the driveway.

“Thanks goes out to these guys. It was such a joy to go in there on Sunday morning to look for something – hooray for manpower,” smiled Cheryl Marsh, one of the housemothers.
