Donation from Spur

An ongoing donation from Casadena Spur is helping to feed children at Sizanani Centre.

CASADENA Spur showed its community caring side recently by donating R1000 to buy food for needy children.

According to Juanita Davis, the ongoing donation of R1000 from the restaurant was urgently required to meet catering needs at Sizanani Centre.

Sizanani Centre is a soup kitchen where children who do have the means of getting a meal during the day are fed.

“They are mainly orphans and a lot of the households are so poor that they are only able to supply a meal in two to three days. We found that the children are unable to cope at school due to the lack of nutrition,” said Juanita.

The centre also has a clinic on the premises that supplies patients with their medication for TB and HIV/AIDS.

“Due to the hunger among these patients they are unable to take their medication and therefore we are going to try and supply them with a meal whilst they are at the clinic. It is organisations like Spur that make our task so much easier when we are trying to feed so many school children and TB HIV/AIDS patients,” she said.
