Pedestrian killed in Umgeni Road accident

A WOMAN was killed tragically on Tuesday morning after she was hit by a car along Umgeni Road.

Chris Botha, Netcare911 spokesman said the incident occurred at 8.30am, “Reports indicate that the woman was trying to run across the road when she landed in front of a vehicle that came hurtling down the road.”

Netcare 911 paramedics found the woman lying on the ground with life threatening injuries, “The impact on the vehicle indicated that the pedestrian had been flung across the bonnet into the windshield. Tragically, the lady died at the scene due to the extensive injuries that she sustained,” he said.
