Man shot, robbed in Bartle Road

The men, who took money from the victim, got away in a Toyota with a NU registration.

A MAN has been shot in the arm after being robbed by four unknown men in Bartle Road this morning.

According to Capt Pumzile Makaula from Umbilo SAPS, the man withdrew a large amount of money from a bank in Davenport and stopped to buy refreshments from a shop in Bartle Road at around 10.30am.

“As he got back to his car he was approached by four armed men. They fired two shots at the man, injuring him in the arm. He gave them his money before they took off in a Toyota with a NU registration,” she said.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.

“We urge people to avoid withdrawing large amounts of money from the bank,” she said.
