PARAMEDICS arrived on the corner of Johannes Nkosi (Alice) and Dr Yusuf Dadoo (Grey) Street just after midnight on Saturday, February 11, to find a taxi had veered off the roadway before plummeting onto the railway line below.
Kyle Van Reenen of Emer-G-Med Paramedics said several people were left with critical injuries in the collision.
“Reports from the scene are that two commuters sustained critical injuries whilst a third suffered moderate injuries only. The driver is alleged to have fled the scene,”he said.
While the cause of the collision is unclear at this stage, Van Reenen said the South African Police Services were in attendance conducting the necessary investigation.
