The National Homeless Network needs volunteers

The National Homeless Network is looking for volunteers to assist with the fight for the homeless of South Africa.

HAVE you ever wanted to help the fight for the homeless of the county? If so, look no further than The National Homeless Network.

The charitable organisation is looking for volunteers.

Director of the Denis Hurley Centre, Raymond Perrier said the centre is a member of the National Homeless Network. He described the network as a movement that brings together over a dozen organisations in eight cities across South Africa.

“It includes practitioners, NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, local homeless forums, activists, academics, and most importantly current and former homeless individuals. We meet regularly to glean ideas, share promising practises and to work on united efforts on a national level when necessary,” said Perrier.

“We are looking for someone who is passionate about homelessness and has good admin and computer skills to act as a volunteer National Homeless Network Administrator/Secretary,” he said.

Perrier said that this position is on a voluntary basis and services will not be remunerated.

“It can be carried out from anywhere in the country, provided the individual has access to a computer and WIFI. He/She will be briefed and supported by a National Homeless Network member l located nearby,” said Perrier.
