A WOMAN gave birth on the pavement near Durban City Hall on Dr Pixley KaSeme Street on Monday, April 4.
Medi Response Paramedics rushed to the scene at about 14:00 after receiving reports of a child birth in progress.
Spokesperson for Medi Response Paramedics, Paul Herbst said they arrived to find the woman had delivered a healthy baby girl with the help of SAPS members.

“SAPS Search and Rescue members report that they had come across the woman who had collapsed, and they assisted with the delivery. Mother and baby are both healthy and have been transported to hospital,” said Herbst.
Durban Central SAPS was not available for comment at the time this article was published.
