Grieving father blames building management for twins’ tragedy, vows to get justice

Khaya Dlamini, the father of eight-year-old twins who fell from a lift at Homii Lifestyle, vows to hold the management accountable for the incident that claimed the life of one twin while the other fights for her life in ICU.

SOCIAL media users are setting online platforms ablaze following a gruesome incident at Homii Lifestyle building last week.

The incident saw eight-year old Aphile and Aphelele fall from an alleged “faulty” lift from the fourth floor. Aphelele died, while Aphile is still in a coma. He will be laid to rest today.

“I will not be intimidated by criminal Homii and pathetic Boss security. I will not let this slide. My son did not die for nothing. My daughter is not in ICU for nothing. They better kill me. I will fight for the justice of my children,” he shared on social media.

He continued, “Homii management does not care at all. No one has visited me and my wife, I had to go myself to the security office to demand footage and they refused. They only gave me a grocery bag and teddy bear which I refused.”

In a statement the management team at Homii Lifestyle  extended its condolences to the family.

“We confirm that the safety and well-being of our residents remain a priority. A full investigation is currently underway. We are co-operating fully with the authorities. In the interim our team is willing to provide counselling and support to those who are affected,” the building management said in the statement.

The March And March activist group will on Monday lead a march to Homii building to engage with the management.
