Cancer warriors raise awareness in fundraiser

Community organisation, Warriors With A Purpose, continues to fight one of the toughest battles facing humankind, cancer. This time, they bring a fundraiser with a hint of groove.

Warriors With A Purpose (WWAP) is calling on community members, friends, and everyone with a heart for making a difference. This fundraising event isn’t just another gathering; it’s a chance to stand with warriors, survivors, families, and those currently fighting the toughest battle of their lives.

The Founder of WWAP, Renée Singh, is a breast cancer survivor who, together with her team, has dedicated their time to advocating for cancer patients.
“As lived-cancer-experience my voice matters to advocate to make an impact and change to the cancer continuum, making meaningful engagement with other civil organisations and individuals. Advocating for better cancer care and cancer control locally and internationally,” said Singh.

She added, “I believe strongly in coalition building, collaborations with other stakeholders, and partnerships to achieve our advocacy goals. To make an impact on both strong relationships with policy makers and influencers.”

She said every ticket sold for the fundraiser would support cancer patients and their families, fund awareness and outreach programmes, provide resources, care packs, and emotional support, and most importantly, bring hope to people who truly need it. The funds will also go a long way in affording toiletry packs for adult and children fighting cancer in a public hospital.

“This year’s event is going to be powerful, emotional, and uplifting. Expect meaningful talks, inspiring stories, fun activities, good food, and a space where everyone comes together for one purpose: to fight cancer with love and unity. By buying a ticket, sharing the event, or simply showing up, you become part of the impact. Your support helps us reach more families and spread more hope,” Singh said.

The event will be supported by Tash, Sharika Sukhu, Aladia Moodley, Zakiah Ebrahims, and Ajay Jugdeo, and We Stand United By Unique.
For enquiries and ticket purchase contact Renée on 063 781 6643 (WhatsApp).

All the action will be on December 7 at 27 Silver Avenue, Greyville.
