SAPS close off part of Argyle Road after shooting

This afternoon, police and paramedics responded to the scene of a car with two occupants that had been shot at on Argyle Road between Stanger Street and the Brickhill Road intersection. Fortunately, only one person was injured and has been taken to a nearby hospital.

THE police have closed off a portion of Argyle Road after a car with two people inside was shot at and sprayed with bullets.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, paramedics responded to the scene just after 13:30 this afternoon after they received numerous calls of a shooting incident that had occurred on Argyle Road between Stanger Street and the Brickhill Road intersection.

“Paramedics arrived on scene to find that a vehicle [was riddled] with bulletholes and immediately assessed the two occupants of the vehicle. Fortunately, only one of the occupants sustained gunshot wounds – one female, believed to be in her thirties, sustained minor to moderate injuries and was stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics,” said Jamieson.
