EDITOR – In response to the letter by Brian P Kennedy;
Below are the actions I took with regards to the Essenwood road property:
1. I received the complaint and forwarded the details to the relevant
officials;
2. Followed up with a second email and request for a site meeting;
3. Telephoned the relevant officials and was assured that a notice was
served on the owner;
4. Followed up again after receiving more complaints;
5. Visited the relevant officials and requested a written report on the status quo of the legal application that has been taken against the owner;
6. Approached the media to write a scathing story to highlight the problem for the second time and hopefully get a more concrete response from the department;
7. Read a letter in the press that says I’ve done nothing?
8. Wrote this letter in response.
