EDITOR – We as a nation mourn the great statesman Nelson Mandela, the likes of whom we will never see in our lifetime. A man of humility, compassion and forgiveness. He brought about the downfall of the terrible apartheid regime. However, it saddens me that the leaders of our country have not fulflled his hopes and dreams for South Africa. He wanted peace and tolerance.
Violence has escalated, poverty and abuse against woman and children is rife. Our politicians are corrupt and self-serving. Madiba’s ideas and all he envisaged is being cast aside. Carrying on this great man’s legacy, I think not.
