Bylaws need to be enforced

A resident feels by-laws are being flouted and offenders know the police will do nothing.

EDITOR – Berea police spokesman Lt Naidoo tells us that clamping a vehicle that blocks your driveway is illegal.

Perhaps he can then give people his cellphone number so in the event of this occurring we can get hold of him immediately instead of getting a lukewarm response from the police emergency number. It is very evident that Metro Police and in some instances SAPS apply laws selectively.

The increase in vagrants and prostitutes in Glenwood is evidence of this. By-laws are being completely flouted and the offenders know that the police will do nothing.

The investigation into the Metro Police is long overdue but realistically nothing will change.
