EDITOR – This is an enormous thank you to the Glenwood Community Watch patrol guys for helping me in the small hours of the morning on 26 February.
Up early by chance, I happened to hear the sound of gushing water coming from my back yard – a new outbuilding pipe join had apparently given in under pressure.
I could never have gone outside myself to investigate the sound or to turn the mains off at that time of night.
The GCW guys were here in under two minutes from the time I phoned their all-hour number – in fact, three of their patrol groups arrived!
In no time at all the problem was located, water mains off, and entire yard checked. How amazingly fortunate we all are to have a group of people like this looking after us and our neighbourhood – I think all residents should know who helps to keep us safe and supported at night.
Occasionally you find a really good thing in a world gone bad. This is it.
