Signboard is not ugly

Glenwood is blessed with having a school such as Glenwood Prep.

EDITOR – With reference to Mark Crozier’s utterances regarding Glenwood Prep’s ‘ugly sign board’, I wish to reply.

I don’t know if I’m more disheartened or absolutely disgraced. I have taken total umbridge to this letter! I’m presuming with such a forthright approach to a school sign board in the area, Mr Crozier is a resident? Sad that, if he is.

Not only have I lived in Glenwood for 33 years, but my mother has for 58 years and so has her father for 80 years. Its our home, our sanctuary. We have also all attended Park View, now Glenwood Prep. So when I say this, I speak from walking the walk with the school and furthermore with the community.

With regards to his comment that it portrays selfishness and tramples all over the concept of community, may I remind this individual that it is the schools such as Glenwood Prep, that continue to offer any hope to the lifestyle that we have up to now enjoyed in this community. Look at the radical change in just our park life and recreational uses.

Mr Crozier, you have no idea how hard these top schools work to continue the pursuit of excellence. To say that our community is blessed with such schools, is what 90 per cent of Glenwood residents understand and fully endorse.

Mr Crozier, I think possibly if you focused all your energy and time at something that would bear fruit like joining one of the community forums such as the forum for the unsightly prostitution, the forum for night watch or the clean up of our parks forum, your mind will be enlightened and your fruitless attacks could be utilised in a more constructive manner.

The future of not ‘your’, but rather ‘our’ lovely suburb Mr Crozier lies in the hands of a committed group of educationists, businessmen and their innovations need our support!
