Thank you Berea police

A reader is amazed and thanks Berea police for excellent work in assisting to recover his stolen cellphone.

EDITOR- My iPhone was stolen from a restaurant in Florida Road recently. I immediately went onto iCloud and switched the phone to lost mode so it could be tracked.

I got an email at 10pm that night notifying me that my iPhone was switched on so I went on the Internet and saw it was at a house in Berea.

I checked again on Saturday morning and I could see the thief was walking around in Berea. I went to Berea police station and explained that I had been tracking the stolen phone. The detective on duty immediately got his van keys to go after the thief.

About a kilometre from the crook, he got into a taxi so we followed the signal until it stopped. Now with so many taxis around that was quite something! We arrived at the Victoria Street Market taxi rank and started tracking and following the signal again and after sifting through the crowd and through the skills of the very sharp police officers, we managed to apprehend the thief.

He was promptly arrested and back at the station charged with theft and possession of stolen property with the intention of selling said goods.

Berea SAPS rocks… find my iPhone rocks!

I'm honestly stoked at how these guys and girls operate and how friendly and efficiently they handled this case.

Thanks to W/O Makhoba, Cst Zindela, Cst Exford and Cst Ngcingwene, you guys are awesome!
