Crime on the increase

A student requests trees near Pigeon Valley be cut back as they are hiding places for criminals.

EDITOR – There has been a huge increase in the number of students who have been mugged near Pigeon Valley. The vast number of trees that shade the road have led to many students from Howard College being mugged during school hours.

May the trees please be removed as they make a hiding area for criminals. On Friday 22 August at about midday a male student was robbed of his phone.

Please remove the trees, or have a 24 hour surveillance for the safety of students and school children who travel on this route.

Instead of having Umbilo SAPS harass students, please, may they harass the hooligans that encompass our streets.
