No joy from parks department

A Glenwood resident said she has had no luck in having a tree, which is growing over into her property, trimmed by the municipality.

EDITOR – Last year February I called the municipality to please come and trim the tree outside my wall of my house and the grass growing out of the pavement as well.

I was put through to quite a few people and given a reference number. Three weeks later I called again and was given another reference number. Weeks later I called and asked for the manager and spoke to her, and still nothing happened. At the beginning of April I called and spoke to her manager and still nothing, just promises.

I was then told that the contract ended in December 2013 to have kerbs, trees and so on cut, and this has not been renewed. I have the names of all the people who I spoke to over the next few months and still to no avail.

The tree hangs over my wall and is easily accessible to anyone to have access to my garden. It is now so far into the street that on Saturday a truck knocked into it and lost some cargo, and took a chunk out of the branch. The tree two houses up from me is so overgrown that one has to duck to walk under it!

Can someone please see what steps can be taken so that someone does their job. It is now one year later since my first attempt to get these trees trimmed.
