City notice too vague on proposed soccer academy

A Durban resident questions why Hoy Park is the only 'player' in the development of a soccer academy in Durban.

EDITOR – This letter refers to the article on the municipality's notice for public participation regarding the proposed soccer academy.

Vague, indeed.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves – before we tacitly agree to any pre-existing (and unsolicited) agreements, we need to get some clay ducks in a neat row (shooting ducks for sport is not a nice thing to do).

We need to know the history of Hoy Park Management, it's commitment to the City visions and whether it upholds the Laws and By-Laws governing the City. If HPM is in charge of that space next to the Baseball Park, it consistently allows the neighbours and, more importantly, those at the events there a good dose of noise-blasting.

We need to know why there is only one player in this game, besides the City.
