I Care registers its 1000th street child

I Care has registered its 1000th street child on its database.

EDITOR – I Care are thrilled to share the news that our database has reached the 1000 mark.

I Care are so proud of these street children for making the decision to transform their lives into effective members of society. I Care has a drop-in centre in Greyville, Durban and Brixton and Johannesburg, a rehab centre in KwaMakutha and Amanzimtoti and three family houses in lower Illovo.

I Care is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to finding a solution to the challenge facing street children in South Africa, providing programmes in our holistic cycle including awareness, outreach, rehabilitation, housing/shelter, education and skills/job creation.

I Care appeals to the public not to give any street children money. Giving these children money enables and prolongs their stay on the streets, and in turn encourages substance abuse, which in turn can lead to crime and all sorts of unacceptable and bad behaviour.

I Care, who have been successfully transforming the lives of these children for the past 14 years, are strongly appealing to the public to support us and if they would like to make a donation. Rather make the donation to I Care and assist us in our work with these children. Contact 031 572 6870 or www.icare.co.za
