THE 2015 Marriott Dargle Trails Festival promises to be a highlight in trail running and on the MTB calendar.

On 16 August, the Lions River Club in the Dargle Valley (Midlands) will host the popular festival, a day packed with a variety of trail running and MTB events to suit all fitness levels.

According to the Lion’s River Club Chairman, Julia Rees, the trails, prepared by Big Wheels Cycles, are outstanding.

“There is a lot of single track, and the views of the Dargle Valley from the trails are breathtaking. The routes are usually not open to the public, so it will be a completely new experience for MTB and trail running enthusiasts,” she said.

The 2015 festival will include three trail run events (6, 12 and 21kms), three MTB events (6, 21 and 45kms) a trail ride for horses and their riders (21kms) and a 3km bike ride and dog walk for the whole family, with proceeds from this event going to the SPCA.

Besides the trail events, there will also be fun activities for the kids such as face-painting and pony rides, food stalls and a craft market on the day. Nannies will be available at the Playzone to entertain children while parents are out on the trails.
