Runners still have until 10 August to enter the 2015 edition of the Mandela Day Marathon.

IT'S all systems go for the 2015 edition of Mandela Day Marathon, the fastest growing marathon in Africa.
The Mandela Day Marathon has seen a huge surge in online application as well as the manual applications in the past few days, necessitating the extension of the closing date to 10 August.
A number of elite and professional runners, including household names, have entered to stake their claim on the prize money on offer. They face stiff competition from athletes from China, USA, Great Britain, Holland, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, France, Bangladesh, Ecuador and other countries who have already entered to hoist their flags in the festival of events.
The 2015 chapter of the Mandela Day Marathon will be characterised by the variety of sporting codes inclusive of triathlon, trail running and mountain biking on Saturday, 29 August. The flagship 42km marathon takes place on Sunday, 30 August, starting at Manaye Hall in Imbali, Edendale where Nelson Mandela gave his last speech as a free man on 26 March 1961 and it follows his footsteps to the iconic Capture Site in Howick.
