Glenwood win 7s tourney

Glenwood High School's U16 Sevens team won the Port Natal 7s tournament on Saturday.

THE Glenwood High School U16 Sevens rugby team participated in the Port Natal U16 7s Tournament on Saturday 29 August.

Glenwood, Westville, DHS, Port Natal, Pinetown, Maritzburg College and Kloof participated in this tournament. The tournament format was not the standard IRB 7’s rules as a few teams pulled out due to the private schools mid-term break, and each team took on all participating teams to become the winners of this event.

Glenwood showed great promise with new players putting their hands up to participate and working hard as a team to win all five games and draw with DHS.

Glenwood were crowned winners of the Port Natal 7s Tournament, which is a promising sign for the future with 7s rugby now an Olympic sport allowing young players to one day play for the Green and Gold.
