ENJOY outings with Durban Ramblers Hiking Club this weekend.
On Saturday 12 September, the group will dot the Stockville Hike, Stockville Valley.
Meet at the Gillitts Post Office (Clifton Road) parking area at 1.30pm. Hikers will then share transport to the end of Jan Smuts Avenue, Winston Park to the start of the hike. Hike along the escarpment, down into the Stockville Valley and back to Gillitts Post Office. Some members to drive back to end of Jan Smuts to retrieve cars. Annual potjie cook-off at Werner’s house after the hike.
Grading 4 – strenuous. Contact the hike leader, Werner on 084 206 7836.
On Sunday 13 September, the group will hike at Virginia Beach, Durban North.
Meet at Virginia Airport parking area at 8am. Walk along beach from Virginia to Umhlanga and return on tar roads. Drinks afterwards at Wings Club.
Grading 2 – easy. Distance is 18km. Contact the hike leader, Glenys Bentley on 083 375 2252.
