Surf School opens for holidays

Learn to surf this December, with qualified Durban lifesavers, Fika Ngubane and Mikey Venter.

SURF coaches, Fika Ngubane and Mikey Venter, are offering a surf school at Umhlanga Main Beach from 12 December when the Lizzard Hurricane Summer Surf Event starts.

The surf school will be open for the full duration of the Umhlanga Summer Festival during the December holidays.

Fika and Mikey have both been coaching for over three years and are both qualified lifesavers, having passed their ISA coaching tests.

Mikey said: “I am really excited about helping locals and holiday makers learn to surf. I have been working with Quintin Jones surf school for years and have seen how happy people get when they first stand up on a board. We teach both children and adults – you are never too old to learn. Also Ethekweni Surfriders are sponsoring a few lessons for underprivileged kids which is a great way to give back.”

For more information on the lessons, call Mikey on 084 392 2592.
