Soccer tourney aids charity

Enter a 5-A-side soccer team and you could be lifting the Springfield Strike Masters Cup.

SPRINGFIELD Retail Centre is giving local soccer teams the opportunity to battle it out for bragging rights and some fantastic prizes in the Springfield Strike Masters 5-A-Side Soccer Tournament.

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May from 9am to 2pm, eight teams will go head-to-head in a series of knockout games at Springfield Retail Centre. The final will be held on Sunday afternoon when the two unbeaten teams take to the field to see who will be crowned champions.

While the tournament is all about free kicks and fancy footwork, Springfield Retail Centre also aims to assist The Sunflower Fund in raising awareness and educating potential stem cell donors who are representative of the SA demographics, in an effort to save the lives of those needing a transplant. The Sunflower Fund has been chosen as the beneficiary for this event and they will receive a donation from Springfield Retail Centre at the end of the tournament.

Whether you are part of a 5-A-side soccer team or you want to get your buddies together to make one, visit www.springfieldretailcentre.co.za to enter and you could be lifting the Springfield Strike Masters Cup.
