Get out and about in nature this weekend with Durban Ramblers Hiking Club.

GET outdoors with local hiking clubs this weekend.

Durban Ramblers Hiking Club will take on a hike at the Crowned Eagle Conservancy on Saturday 14 May.

This is a guided walk through the privately owned Conservancy taking in the indigenous flora and fauna and areas of historical interest.

It is a great hike for beginners.

The group will meet at 1.45pm at the Gillitts Post Office Shopping Centre (2 Clifton Road, off Old Main Road).

Cost is R20 donation towards the upkeep of the Conservancy.

Grade 1 – easy.

On Sunday 15 May, the group will hike at Valley of 1000 Hills.

Hike into the valley and follow the river before scrambling back up to the dirt road then back down to the river before the final climb out of the valley, via the dam.

Meet at 7.30am Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Road, Pinetown, or at 8am at the Pot and Kettle (168 Old Main Road), Botha’s Hill. Petrol sharing is R15.

Steep in parts. Grade 3-4, distance is ±18km.
