Enter five-a-side Dante Cup

Calling all soccer enthusiasts and all those seeking a fun day out with the family.

ENTRIES are open for the Dante Cup, a fun, five-a-side soccer tournament that takes place on Saturday 13 August from 8.30am at St Henry’s Marist College in Glenwood.

Gather your friends and take up the challenge of this exciting tournament, safe in the knowledge that the entry fee is going towards a charitable cause of promoting a sense of understanding and peace between cultures through the Dante Alighieri Society.

Enter your team for R500, which also includes entry to win prizes in the raffle.

Take the family down to watch on the day as there will be plenty for the children to enjoy including a jumping castle, face painting and performers as well as a range of food and drinks on offer and prizes to be won. Cost is R10 per person to attend on the day, including a raffle ticket, and free for those under 16 years of age.

The Dante Alighieri Society is a non-profit Italian worldwide organisation that promotes a spirit of peace and understanding among people and cultures as well as the study of cultures and languages around the world. It was formed in Italy in July 1889 however its focus is not limited to Italian culture.

The society is dedicated to promoting all forms and nationalities of culture and focuses on a variety of language course including German, Portuguese, isiZulu and Afrikaans. In addition, the society organises a range of public events from opera evenings to talent shows as well as soccer tournaments and plenty of activities for children.
