Running for awareness
The CANSA Shades of Pink 5km fun walk/run was held on 15 October.
DAVENPORT Square hosted the CANSA Shades of Pink 5km fun walk/run on 15 October from 7am to 10pm.
This race was held to raise awareness for women’s health and participants were encouraged to wear pink.
The event, which was hosted by Green Legends and Stella Athletic Club, started and finished at the centre.
The top five men in the Open 5km event were Thabiso Dlamini in 20:40, Sbongokuhle Sithole in 23:35, Phomotso Seboyi in 23:54, Brandon Carr in 30:56 and John Nommer in 35:35 and the top five women were Thubisile Memela in 27:20, Sphindile Thusi in 28:33, Zamile Nduli in 29:04, Eagan Wilkinson in 31:19 and Angel Nkambule in 32:26.
