THE Sharks XV beat the Russian national team at Jonsson Kingspark on Friday recording a 45-21 win. The home side, who fielded a number of youth players, were in impressive form scoring seven tries in the process.
The win follows last week’s 64-14 win by the Sharks over the same opponents.
The first half proved tough for the two opponents as the Sharks XV went into the break leading 19-14.
The second half however proved to be a bruising one for the Russians as they wilted under the Durban sun in the second half as the XV scored 26 points
Mtungwa Mapantsela, who played SA schools last year, has had an excellent game scoring two tries for The Sharks XV.
There was also impressive performances from SA Under 20 captain Phepsi Buthelezi at No 8 and new signing Jordan Chait at flyhalf, who scored one of the home side’s tries.
