The year of the horse art expo
An exhibition at Elizabeth Gordon Gallery will celebrate the year of the horse.
THE Year of the Horse, an exhibition by Carol Hayward Fell and friends, will open on Wednesday 1 October at 6pm, and run until Saturday 11 October at Elizabeth Gordon Gallery, 120 Florida Road, Durban.
Opening speaker will be Michael (Muis) Roberts, SA’s top former jockey and current racehorse trainer.
The exhibiton is painting and drawings of horses, by many top invited Durban artists to accompany Carol's ceramic horses.
The artists are Ana de Vlieg, Andrew Verster, Barbara Siedle, Gayle Walters, Heather Gourlay-Coyngham, Jane Digby, Jane Oliver, Jeanette Gilkes, Joan Martin, John Smith, Lara Mellon, Lesley Magwood-Fraser, Maggie Strachan, Marianne Meijer, Michele Silk, Nicole Pletts, Pascale Chandler, Patty Douglas, Renee Leslie, Tony Starkey, and Carol Hayward Fell.
The exhibition celebrates 2014, which in the Chinese calendar, is the year of the horse.
