Excited and looking forward to the new partnership NACMA awards founder, Vusi Mvelase said that NACMA Awards and the SA YMCA’s partnership was based on both their common interests of development. “The NACMA Awards chose the SA YMCA because of its global presence. Concrete plans such as the NACMA Awards International Choral Music Festival are already in place for 2015 and beyond. This partnership is a win-win situation for all parties!”
YMCA national programme development director, Mike Cuthbert said his team was pleased and satisfied that both organisations share the vision of using choral music as a means to support the development of arts and culture in local communities. This also includes performance and training of upcoming individuals and groups in music skills. “This (partnership) will significantly strengthen the YMCA Y-Arts programme which aims to provide creative spaces for young people to develop themselves.”
