Guy Buttery in Durban

Award-winning local guitarist, Guy Buttery, will perform in two gigs this weekend.

GUITAR guru, Guy Buttery will beat Open Strings, 16 Jameson Terrace, Kloof, on Friday, 5 December at 6pm and on Saturday, 6 December at The Dutch, 3 Chartwell Drive, Umhlanga Rocks, at 8pm.

With sell-out performances in the US, the UK, Australia, France, Brazil, Italy and all over Southern Africa, Guy Buttery is Africa’s biggest acoustic music export.

Apart from local achievements, Guy Buttery’s worldwide scope and recognition rose exponentially post the release of his award winning album Fox Hill Lane with invitations to perform all over the globe. He was also invited to perform at the South African Music Awards where he was broadcast to an audience of over 4 million strong in one of the country's most watched televised events. Guy then joined world renowned guitar legends Preston Reed and Jon Gomm for a series of concerts with the touring International Guitar Night.

Expect high dynamics, deep grooves, delicate African inflections and mind-bending guitar playing of an entirely new order.

CDs will be on sale.

Tickets for the show in Kloof will be R150. Contact 082 653 3948 or rodnichols@telkomsa.net and for the gig in Umhlanga, tickets will be R250, contact 031 561 6969 or tamarin@thedutch.co.za
