Drumming support for monkeys

Donate to a good cause and enjoy an evening of drumming and other entertainment.

DON’T MISS an exciting evening of drum solos and percussion at Musketeers at the German Club in Westville (7 Barham Road) on Saturday 10 January at 6pm.

Grant Halliday has carefully selected drum players ranging from older experienced pros, to young up-and-coming drummers. He has also chosen drummers from different genres of music such as jazz, blues, rock, reggae, Latin American, pop, Gospel and heavy metal.

Among the drummers performing are Bruce Baker, Shawn Peterson, Shante Bekwa, Alberto Chemane, Pravin Giandhari, Devon Hore, Richard Ellis, Mike Mazoni and many more.

There will also be a military drumline band, some beatboxing and some audience interactive djembe drumming with Tracey Chenanie of Talking Drums.

Each performance will be a maximum of 15 minutes long, All proceeds will go to Monkey Helpline to help build a new rehabilitation centre at Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand.

Last month Monkey Helpline was given the opportunity to meet with David Bozaz from the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization and Thula Thula Game Reserve up in Zululand.

They generously donated land to build three open air enclosures along with the required out buildings such as a clinic, staff and volunteer accommodation to serve as a rehabilitation centre for Monkey Helpline in KZN.

The organisation is trying very hard to raise the necessary funds to build the centre and is appealing to the public for support.

Free entrance. Contact Grant Halliday on 082 375 7997 or Ellysa on 083 603 0953 or email: ellysa@monkeyhelpline.co.za
