Win tickets to comedy duo’s new show

Five lucky Berea Mail readers can win double tickets to Defending the Planet #2, the latest comedy show starring zany Durban duo Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert.

The zany comedy duo Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert of McBob Production revisit one of their greatest hit shows with Defending The Planet # 2, which runs at UKZN’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from 18 February to 15 March.

Starring Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, Defending the Planet #2 is written by Susan Monteregge and directed by Darren King. The story focuses on a self-help group of victims of alien abductions, formed to examine these and other close encounters of various kinds. Typical of the McIlroys’ unique comedic style, Defending The Planet # 2 discusses the trauma of victims who have been “probed” by aliens.

With off-the-wall characters and an eclectic range of foot-stomping music, suggestions are made as to how one can deal with an “invasion” and how to avoid falling victim to these outlandish creatures. The show is a must-see for anyone who has ever wondered about extra-terrestrial activity and above all, assures audiences of an entertaining evening of music and laughter.

Speaking about the new show Lisa Bobbert said, “Have you ever felt that you don't belong or that there's more to life than this? Are your dreams so weird that you are afraid people will judge you? You may not realize it but you have been manipulated by powers beyond your control. Yes, you have had an alien abduction experience! The time has come to step out of the dark and defend our planet. If you miss this show it could be the end of the world as we know it!”
