Decorex 2015: Something for everyone

A COMBINATION of beautiful inspiration, clever ideas as well as some fun interactive installations and delicious eats make Decorex Durban the ideal place to visit with a group of friends – or even the whole family.

This year, Decorex Durban, which is held from 19 to 22 March at Durban Exhibition Centre, is themed “Home of Great Ideas”, with a focus on ensuring that visitors leave the exhibition armed with tons of inspiration for making home improvements. A variety of eateries also mean that there’s plenty of refreshment for those exhibition-weary feet when visitors need some time out.

Certain to be one of the most entertaining features at Decorex Durban, is The Dining and Entertaining Theatre, which will provide fun home-entertaining talks and cooking demos by a host of engaging local chefs, all presented from a beautiful purpose-built kitchen.

A colourful pop-up, the Upmarket pop-up on Friday evening will offer everything from artisanal food to live performances by popular local musicians, plus an array of original wares to buy, including handcrafted jewellery, fashion and accessories, ceramics, artworks and more.

And for those craving a bit of retail therapy, don’t miss the Craft and Create pavilion. This will be the ultimate marketplace for artisans, crafters and smaller local exhibitors where visitors will be treated to a wide choice of limited-edition pieces, thrifty finds and wise buys and, because traders are drawn predominantly from Durban and its surrounds.

In addition to the comprehensive showcase of the latest products and services from the décor and design world, Decorex Durban is also laying on a number of unique platforms to give visitors a taste of the latest décor, design and lifestyle trends.

And when you need a break, or want to meet a friend, make a note to relax in one of these delicious Decorex Durban restaurants.

The show will run from 10am to 8pm on 19 March, from 10am to 9pm on 20 March, from 10am to 8pm on 21 March and from 10am to 6pm on 22 March.

Tickets are R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and school pupils, R15 for children under 12 and R60 for trade and exhibitors.
