Celebrating French cuisine across the world

Enjoy the best of French cuisine, while Durban chef, Shaun Smith, takes part in the international Gout de France/Good France event.

A DURBAN chef will participate in an international event celebrating French cuisine, the Gout de France/Good France on 19 March at 7pm.

This will be at Fusion Restaurant, 4 Silvervause Centre, Durban, in partnership with Alliance française de Durban and will be a one-of-a-kind, unique opportunity to savour France.

Chef, Shaun Smith, will participate, alongside more than 1000 chefs selected worldwide, for this extraordinary one-night-only event.

Dinners served simultaneously in participating restaurants, will honour the merits of French cuisine, its capacity for innovation and its values: sharing, enjoying, and respecting the principles of high-quality, environmentally responsible cuisine.

Inspired by Auguste Escoffier who launched the Dîners d’Épicure (Epicurean Dinners) initiative in 1912 – the same menu, the same day, in several cities of the world and aiming at as many diners as possible – Goût de France / Good France reproduces a beautiful idea with the desire to involve restaurants all around the world.

Each chef will offer in their restaurant, a French-style menu of a traditional French aperitif, a cold starter, a hot starter, fish or shellfish, meat or poultry, a French cheese (or cheeseboard), a chocolate dessert, French wines and digestifs, while remaining free to highlight their own culinary traditions and cultures. The cuisine will be accessible to all, from bistros to exceptional restaurants, all based on fresh, seasonal and local products with lower levels of fat, sugar, salt and protein.

Dining fee (booking is essential) is R495. To book contact 031 202 6182. Visit: www.fusioncooking.co.za
