Treat for whisky lovers
Durban fans of the dram set to welcome world’s finest whiskies.

WHISKY fans are in for a treat on 24 and 25 April when Suncoast’s Sun Zone hosts the Whisky Live Showroom.
This exciting boutique-style tasting event will bring some of the world’s finest whiskies to the city. This intimate showcase of 80 whiskies will give fans of the dram the opportunity to sample some of the rarest, most intriguing expressions, with
more exhibitors putting their wares on display than ever before. Newcomers to this year’s Showroom events include Tomatin and Smokehead, Glenrothes, Jack Daniel’s and a selection of peated whiskies including Laphraoig and Auchentoshan.
The Whisky Live Showrooms have been carefully curated to offer a blend of tasting experiences, along with opportunities to engage with world-leading experts in the category. Not only will the various whiskies be available for tasting, several brands will offer special deals at the event.
The event will also introduce Innis & Gunn craft beers to the Durban market. These beers are brewed at low temperatures using bespoke ale malts, and are matured in casks previously used for aging Kentucky bourbon – thus bringing the worlds of whisky and beer together in a delicious, refreshing beer.
Tickets cost R170 on www.whiskylivefestival.co.za and include a complimentary tasting glass, a 500ml bottle of Valpré water, and 15 tasting vouchers. The first 500 visitors through the doors each night will receive a free copy of the 2015 Whisky Handbook, and those who register for the Whisky Live Festival Club at the event, will get R20 cash back, or an extra five tasting vouchers.
