Swingtime with Platform Jazz

Platform Jazz will perform in the show Swingtime at Rhumbelow Theatre in May.

ENJOY the best of swing with Platform Jazz at Rhumbelow Theatre, Umbilo, on 1 May at 1.30pm and 6.30pm.

After a sell out season at the Rhumbelow theatre in Umbilo, Swingtime returns for the two performances, presenting a classy show called Swingtime featuring the best of swing music from the 30s, 40s and 50s.

For their new show there are two new band members, Jeff Judge on sax, and Kirsten Sayers on clarinet. Effervescent Shelley MacLean will be the featured vocalist again. The rest of the band is unchanged led by Cathy “Hotlips” Peacock on trumpet, “Dunc the hunk” Wooldridge on trombone, Andreas “Bullfiddle” Kappen on double bass, the one and only Melvin Peters on piano, and “bashful” Bruce Baker on drums.

Tickets are R120 and R100 concessions. Take food picnic baskets. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show for a picnic dinner and braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat.

Booking is essential through Computicket or email or phone Roland for bookings on 082 499 8636 or roland@stansell.za.net
