Post modern approach to Sophocles tragedy
Durban Girls' College and DHS present a 21st century version of Sophocles’s tragedy, Antigone.
DON'T miss the stage production of #ANTIGONE at Durban Girls’ College, from 11 to 14 May at 7pm each evening in the DGC Centenary Hall, 586 Musgrave Road.
Co-directors Wendy Watson and Kenlynn Sutherland have collaborated on a 21st century version of Sophocles’s tragedy, Antigone – a timeless and engaging story of a strong-willed young woman who stands up to her boyfriend’s father – the violently dogmatic King.
The directors have used a post-modern approach to a truly universal story. Two newsrooms frame the action of the story representing the presence of the media in our lives today.
