Apprentice Rachel Venniker has been in cracking form and is worth every kilo of her 4kg apprentice claim. She rides Jack’s Bird for the Michael Roberts stable and this five-year-old mare looks top value at 10-1.
Her two career wins have been on the Polytrack but ironically, she has not run on the surface since November last year. She ran a close-up fourth in a similar field at Scottsville last time and her merit rating has come down two points. Back on the Polytrack Jack’s Bird, with just 53.5kg on her back could surprise a few of the more fancied candidates.
