Encryption can help crack the Fairview code

By Mike Moon

Luy Mxothwa has ridden Encryption in eight races and the duo has never finished outside the top three. That’s reason enough to make the mare a decent value proposition for Friday’s Fairview Polytrack meeting.

The ace jockey and trainer Sharon Kotzen also enjoy a decent top-three percentage. And then there’s Encryption’s admirable consistency and injury-free spell since transferring to Kotzen’s care in January – during which time she has delivered two of five her career wins.

The daughter of Elusive Fort is drawn on the paint in Race 7, a FM90 Handicap over 1300m, and that is yet another factor making her a compelling Eachway bet and a must inclusion in exotics.

She offers a scrap of comfort in a very difficult card.

Doubt might cloud the picture if we look at Encryption’s last outing in which she finished uncharacteristically last in a minor feature race. However, she was up against some of the best racers in Eastern Cape that day – and raced up with the pace until swamped by the duelling pack in the final stages. The result in cold print can be safely ignored.

Encryption’s principal proposition will come from PE newcomer Querari Ferrari and the Alan Greeff stable mates Sound Check, Glacier Gold and Chile Jam.
