Mike has worked in journalism for longer than he cares to reveal, holding senior positions on various newspapers, including The Natal Witness, Rand Daily Mail, Sunday Times, Business Day and The Times. He has an arts honours degree. As a freelancer, he has edited and written for publications in South Africa and abroad, covering subjects as diverse as cricket and economics. He has been a regular writer for the World Economic Forum for more than 20 years. Coming from a racing-mad family, Mike has dabbled in the game on and off all his life, writing the popular weekly column The Geegees in The Times for a decade. He has owned some good racehorses and the other kind.
