The SAPS would like to thank the public for surrendering their illegal or unwanted firearms during the firearm amnesty period, which was from August 1 to January 31, 2021.
The amnesty period offered South Africans an opportunity to surrender illegal or unwanted firearms, ammunition or firearm parts to help clear illegal guns from the streets without prosecution.
