Dawn Park SAPS conducts major operation to tackle illegal activities

Dawn Park SAPS, in collaboration with local agencies, launched a major operation targeting illegal activities.

Dawn Park SAPS, in collaboration with EMPD, Gauteng traffic wardens, home affairs officials, security companies, CPF and local patrollers, launched a high-impact crime prevention operation aimed at ensuring safety and compliance within the community on October 18.

According to Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, the operation was part of an ongoing effort to combat various crimes and ensure community compliance across sectors.

“Officers diligently carried out the operation, which involved vehicle stop-and-searches, patrols, and inspections of local businesses.

“During the operation, six individuals were apprehended for illegal immigration, one person was arrested for drunk driving, ten cases of illicit cigarettes were seized, an illegal shebeen was closed down, and a second-hand goods store was inspected for compliance with the Second-Hand Goods Act.

“Local tuck shops were also inspected to ensure compliance with relevant laws, and a parallel visibility and blue-light patrol was conducted throughout the Dawn Park area to deter criminal activity.”

Mabula emphasised the importance of these operations in maintaining law and order.

“The officers worked diligently to ensure the safety of our communities and to bring accountability to those not complying with the law.

“These efforts are part of a broader strategy to tackle crime in the region and ensure compliance among local businesses, safeguarding the well-being of Dawn Park residents,” said Mabula.
