FOLLOW UP: Foundation hands over a car to the winner
Tshisusu Foundation celebrated its successful fundraising campaign by gifting a brand-new Suzuki Swift to Lauren Lourens from Benoni.
Tshisusu Foundation marked a significant achievement in its community outreach by presenting a new Suzuki Swift to Lauren Lourens from Benoni on December 3.
The handover, held in Parkdene, celebrated the successful conclusion of a fundraising campaign that began with an exciting draw on November 20 at Entrance 4 of the East Rand Mall.
The car, generously donated by an anonymous benefactor, was a key highlight of the foundation’s initiative to support individuals facing economic challenges.
Lourens shared her initial disbelief when she received the call informing her of her win.
“I thought it was a scam,” she recalled, explaining that she was at work when she answered a call from an unknown number.
“It wasn’t until the caller identified themselves as part of the Tshisusu Foundation that I remembered entering the raffle at Barnyard Emperors Palace, where I had purchased 10 tickets for R100 each.
She expressed her joy and excitement about winning the vehicle.

Arveen Singh, an ambassador for the Tshisusu Foundation, emphasised that funds raised through these campaigns are vital for sustaining the organisation’s operations and community services.
“The money raised will fund the services we render and our operations,” Singh noted.
He expressed gratitude to all participants for their support and highlighted the importance of community involvement in making a difference in the lives of those in need.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the foundation’s team, particularly Monique Du Toit, for making the campaign initiative possible.
Founded in 2018, the Tshisusu Foundation is dedicated to various initiatives such as soup kitchens, training programmes for volunteers and food hamper distributions.
Their mission is grounded in biblical principles aimed at transforming lives and supporting underprivileged communities across South Africa.
As they seek to expand their outreach efforts, Singh encouraged ongoing participation from community members in future fundraising events.
