Aruka Foundation, formerly known as New Beginnings, has officially relocated its head office from the Van Dyk Business Park to the Boksburg South NG Kerk building in Jubilee Road.
The move represents a significant step forward for the organisation, which has long been dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals and families in the community.
According to Jean-Paul (JP) Goris, CEO of the Aruka Foundation, the decision to relocate was driven by a desire to centralise operations and improve service delivery.
“We still have ongoing renovations, and this move allows us to centralise our operations, and the new premises will function as the head office for all the foundations activities.
“The premises will not house any homeless persons as Aruka Village is the facility at 212 Commissioner Street that fulfils this objective. Only the administration activities will be conducted at the new premises.
“This new premises will allow us to grow our activities in the community of the Greater Boksburg area and support the needy when and where required.”

The foundation’s new location has already begun to transform into a hub of hope for those in need and will be instrumental in implementing the foundation’s vision going forward.
Goris expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations that have helped make this transition possible but emphasised that there is still a long road ahead as the foundation has many projects that need support.

“Not the least of these is Aruka Village which houses 250 people, which include families with children, single mothers with children and single men and women.
“This together with the feeding schemes at the Aruka Village in Boksburg and the feeding scheme in Brakpan at Aruka Community Church are the current activities that are the main drive to achieve the foundations’ objective of supporting the community.
“There is an ongoing need for food supplies, school clothing for children, and general clothing for men and women.
“Our feeding scheme is vital, but we need more support to keep it running effectively.”

In addition to addressing basic needs, the Aruka Foundation has, for the last 16 years, provided employment opportunities to the community through its community employment programme.
The success of this programme is determined on co-operation of the business community.
The impact of this programme has seen many unemployed people find temporary and permanent employment, thus making it possible for the beneficiaries to provide for their families and be active participant of the economy of our city.
Upcoming event
As part of its annual tradition, the foundation is planning a special Easter celebration for residents and community members.
The event is not only a time of joy and togetherness but also an opportunity for fundraising and raising awareness about the foundation’s work.
“We’re looking forward to hosting our Easter celebration.
“It’s always a highlight of the year, and if anyone would like to contribute through donations, we would be incredibly grateful.”
The celebration will serve as a moment of connection and hope for many in the community while also shining a light on the foundation’s ongoing efforts to uplift those in need.
