Amidst the rising crime across the SAPS Ekurhuleni District, the district’s 39 police stations have turned to divine intervention.

Driven by a pressing need for divine intervention and community support in their fight against crime, they convened at Freeway Bybelkerk on March 26 for a special prayer day.

The deputy district commissioner Brigadier Lebogang Machakela, station commanders, Gauteng crime prevention wardens, Community in Blue members, local pastors and community representatives attended the event.

A candle-lighting ceremony highlighted the devastating impact of police killings, suicides, accidents, and serious crimes like rapes, hijackings and assaults.

The gathering highlighted law enforcement and community partnership as vital in fighting crime, stressing collaboration and spiritual guidance to address these issues.
