AFM Lifestyle Family Centre to host empowering mother-daughter event

Mothers and daughters are invited to an enlightening event in Reiger Park, focusing on safety and empowerment.

The AFM Lifestyle Family Centre in Reiger Park will host a mother-daughter event on May 24.

The event is designed to raise awareness and provide education on crucial topics such as safety, communication and emotional well-being for young girls. Tickets for the event are available at R50 each.

The event will feature two dynamic speakers: Stephanie Julius and Roberta Adams. They will lead insightful discussions on the importance of creating safe spaces, recognising potential dangers in society, and ensuring open communication between mothers and daughters.

This event aims to educate the girl child about the potential risks and challenges they may face in society. By fostering awareness of their rights, legalities and the significance of open dialogue with their mothers, the AFM Lifestyle Family Centre hopes to equip young girls with the tools they need to navigate their environments safely.

Topics such as conflict resolution, assertive communication, and the importance of emotional safety will also be covered, encouraging participants to create healthy, safe spaces where sensitive issues can be discussed without fear.

Additionally, the event will serve as a fundraising initiative for the centre’s outreach programmes. Proceeds from ticket sales will support outings to the zoo for underprivileged children who may not have the opportunity to experience such activities.

The centre also aims to provide sweet treats and holiday programmes for less fortunate kids during school holidays, offering a chance for joy and relief.

This event, which starts at 10:00, promises to be a powerful and uplifting experience for mothers and daughters alike, encouraging awareness, education and empowerment for the younger generation.
