Windmill Park’s netball star Katlego Madisha heads to Dubai 7s

Fifteen-year-old Katlego Madisha from Belvedere School has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2025 Emirates Dubai Netball 7s.

The Windmill Park Super Talent Netball team is celebrating a major achievement as 15-year-old star player Katlego Madisha has earned a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent South Africa at the Emirates Dubai Netball 7s tournament, taking place from November 26 to December 3.

Katlego, a learner at Belvedere School and a resident of Windmill Park, has been selected as part of a talented squad that will travel to Dubai to compete in one of the world’s most prestigious youth netball tournaments.

According to Amos Rangata, team coordinator, this incredible opportunity is the result of a partnership between Aspire Sport Travel and JENS Netball, two organisations committed to identifying and nurturing rising netball talent.
“Katlego is an exceptional young athlete. She’s dedicated, disciplined, and has worked incredibly hard to reach this level,” said Rangata. “This opportunity is not only about playing netball, but also about gaining international experience, building confidence, and growing both on and off the court.”

The tour package, managed by internationally recognised Aspire Sport Travel, includes flights, accommodation, meals, training, tournament fees, uniforms and airport taxes, at a total cost of R65 000 per player.

Fifteen-year-old netball star Katlego Madisha from Windmill Park has been selected to represent South Africa at the Dubai Netball 7s and is seeking sponsorship to make her dream a reality.

While Katlego’s skill earned her a spot on the team, her family is struggling to meet the financial costs of the tour.
Her mother, Isabel Madisha, expressed immense pride in her daughter’s achievement, saying: “She’s always had a passion for netball and puts her heart into every match. We are incredibly proud of her. We just need help to make this dream a reality. Any support, big or small, would mean the world to us.”

An appeal for sponsorships and donations has been made to businesses, organisations and individuals who want to support the development of young sporting talent in South Africa.

“By supporting Katlego, you’re not just backing one girl; you’re investing in the future of South African netball,” said Juandré Bester, CEO and founder of Aspire Sport Travel. “This tour is about more than the game. It’s about exposing players to different playing styles, cultures and experiences that can shape them for life.”

Anyone wishing to contribute toward Katlego’s journey is encouraged to contact Amos Rangata on 084 780 4124, Isabel Madisha on 072 971 8264, or Juandré Bester from Aspire Sport Travel on 071 766 7752. All funds raised will go toward covering her travel and participation expenses.
